Week 17

 Dear Parents and Students,

It was wonderful to see so many of you at Wednesday’s Christmas Performance. Special thanks go to Ms. Lu and everyone who contributed to making the evening so special. It has been a busy week for us all, and we are certainly ready for a well-earned holiday break.

In the Classroom:

Maths

This week, we completed Topic 9 and held our topic test on Wednesday. After the break, we will begin Topic 10, which focuses on fractions.

Literacy Workshop

This week, we enjoyed reading My Name Is Maria Isabel, and exploring various holiday traditions from around the world. After the break, we will begin work on our Book Review project.

Science

We expanded our understanding of energy transfer by designing and building our own chain-reaction machines. The classroom was full of creativity and excitement as everyone worked on their designs.

Social Studies

Building on our study of the geography and early history of the American Northeast, we explored the modern New England states this week. After the break, we will move on to the Middle Atlantic States and then compare the region with similar areas closer to home.

I hope you all enjoy your vacation, and I look forward to seeing everyone back at school on January 5th.
